Robert R. “Bob” Bell, 74, of (South) Philipsburg, died Thursday, Dec. 15, 2016, at M.S. Hershey Medical Center, Hershey.
Born Aug. 14, 1942, he was a son of the late Edward T. and Delores B. (Shockey) Bell.
He was married April 22, 1962 in Philipsburg to the former Judy L. Buck, who survives at home.
Mr. Bell was primarily employed as a heavy equipment operator for a number of local businesses throughout his working career, including the former Stott Coal Co., Cowfer Coal Co., Power Operating and Walter Levin.
Most recently, he had been employed as a painter with Nevin Stitzer Contracting, State College, until his retirement.
Mr. Bell was a life member of both the Lincoln Club of Hawk Run and the Fraternal Order of Eagles, Aerie No. 516, Renovo.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one grandson, Ryan Edward Bell; and one brother, Leonard Bell.
In addition to his wife, Judy, he is survived by three sons, Robert R. Bell Jr. and Scott A. Bell and his wife, Dana, all of Philipsburg, and Jeffrey A. Bell and his companion, Darlene Dunkle of Allport; six grandchildren, Brittani Bell, Ashley Bell, Brooklyn Huber, Robert Bell III, Kodi Bell and Kaeleb Bell; four great-grandchildren, Robbie, Elliot, Wyatt and Braylee; two sisters, Darlene Dutton and Vicki Bell, both of Philipsburg; one brother, Edward Bell of Philipsburg; and numerous nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will be held at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday at the Beezer-Heath Funeral Home, 719 E. Spruce St., Philipsburg, with the Rev. Timothy Richmond officiating.
Friends will be received from 4 p.m. until the time of service Wednesday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Philipsburg Cemetery, Philipsburg.
