A. Ardell Wallace, 81, of Clearfield died Friday, Dec. 16, 2016 at UPMC Altoona.
He was born Feb. 24, 1935 in Dale, a son of the late Paul I. and Elva M. (English) Wallace.
Mr. Wallace was a long-time employee of Lady Jane Collieries. He also maintained the Rails to Trails for many years.
He was an accomplished handyman who was always working on a project involving wood, engines, remodeling or whatever was in front of him. There wasn’t any task that he wouldn’t take on and complete.
He was an avid golfer and enjoyed hunting. In addition, he attended the Christian and Missionary Alliance Church, Clearfield.
He is survived by his wife, Patricia A. (Williams) Wallace, to whom he was wed Feb. 2, 1957 in the Christian and Missionary Alliance Church, Clearfield.
He is survived by two sons, Kevin Wallace of Clearfield and Drew Wallace and his wife, Kim of Oaks; three grandchildren, Riley Wallace, Skylar Wallace and Alex Wallace; five brothers and a sister, Wilbur Wallace, Frances Maines and Russell Wallace, all of Dale, James Wallace of Woodland, Richard Wallace of Rockton and Walter Wallace of Wallaceton; and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Burton and Frank Wallace.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday at the Clearfield Alliance Church, Clearfield, with the Rev. Robert B. Goldenberg officiating.
Friends will be received from 4 p.m. – 7 p.m. Monday at the Kevin A. Beardsley Funeral Home, Clearfield, and from 9 a.m. – 10 a.m. Tuesday at the church.
