Florence V. Rothrock, 96, formerly of Philipsburg, died Thursday, Dec. 8, 2016 at Weatherwood Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center in Weatherly surrounded by her granddaughter, Cindy and her great-granddaughters.
Born July 17, 1920 in Gearhartville, she was a daughter of the late Frank H. and Martha A. (Taylor) Middleton.
She was a member of Grace United Methodist Church, DAR and the AMVETS Ladies Auxiliary. She was a graduate of Philipsburg High School.
On Jan. 18, 1947 in Philipsburg, she married Mitchell Marvin Rothrock, who died Jan. 13, 1994.
She was also preceded in death by a son, Frank M. Rothrock; a sister, Isabelle Graffius; and two brothers, John H. and George T. Middleton.
She is survived by a daughter-in-law, Connie Rothrock of Saylorsburg; two granddaughters, Cindy Sweeney and Christina Rothrock; four great-grandchildren, Krysanthra Hedden, Kalista Hedden, Mitchell Sweeney and Jacob Sweeney; and several nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the David K. Dahlgren Funeral Home, Philipsburg, with Pastor Michelle R. Bodle officiating. Burial will be at the Philipsburg Cemetery.
Friends will be received from 6 p.m. – 8 p.m. Tuesday and from 10 a.m. – 11 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
