Daniel P. ‘G.I.’ Witherow, 35, of Grampian died Saturday, Dec. 10, 2016 at Penn Highlands DuBois.
He was born Nov. 14, 1981 in Clearfield, a son of Jerry and Lillian (Ferris) Witherow of Grampian.
He was the assistant chief of the Grampian-Penn-Bloom Volunteer Fire Department. He was employed as a mechanic with Hugill Sanitation and also by Kratzer Run Sewer Authority.
He had previously worked for Johnson Brothers Coal Co. and Ken Braniff Motors, Clearfield.
He enjoyed hunting and watching football, hockey and racing. More than anything else, he was a very involved father and enjoyed spending time with his family.
In addition to his parents, he is survived by his fiancée, Erin Baroni of Grampian; two children, Madalynn and Landon Witherow; a sister, Ann Palmeter and her husband, Dan of Clayton, NC; a niece, Kali Palmeter; a nephew, Liem Baroni; his in-laws, Amy Barrett of Curwensville and Rick Baroni of Rockton; three brothers-in-law, Kyle Baroni and his wife, Karson, Austin Barrett and Hunter Barrett, all of Curwensville; and numerous other family members.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the Kevin A. Beardsley Funeral Home, Curwensville, with Pastor Ron Emery officiating. Burial will follow in the Chestnut Grove Cemetery, Grampian.
Friends will be received from 3 p.m. – 7 p.m. Tuesday and from 10 a.m. – 11 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
