Doris Jean Lindsey, 81, of Mebane, NC died Nov. 13, 2016 at Moses Cone Memorial Hospital, Greensboro, NC.
She was born March 10, 1935 in Lyleville, Pa., a daughter of the late Carl and Edna Miles.
Mrs. Lindsey was a beloved pastor’s wife and homemaker who had been married to her husband, Kieth, for 61 years.
While serving as a pastor’s wife, she was also Alliance Women’s president, children’s church director for 40 years, and a Sunday school teacher.
She is survived by her husband, Kieth Lindsey of Mebane, NC; two daughters, Linda Jean Karlinsey (Dan) of Strongstown, Pa., and Deloris Ann Poser, (Dale) of Mebane, NC; a son, Larry Keith Lindsey (Helen Krupa) of Frederick, Md.; and three sisters, Iona Sklar of Chesapeake, Va., Emily Hacker of Belview, Mich., and Carol Rydbom of Coalport.
Also surviving are eight grandchildren, Lora (Brad) Batchelor, Lisa Karlinsey, John (Danielle) Karlinsey, Joe (Sharee) Karlinsey, Amber (Matt) McKinney, Ryan Poser, Keith (Nicole) Lindsey and Hunter Lindsey and five great-grandchildren, Tyler, Skyler, McKinley, Anita and Lily.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her step-father, Chester Daugherty; a sister, Lucille Sheposh; and a brother, Robert Carl Miles.
Friends will be received from 2 p.m. – 4 p.m. and from 6 p.m. – 8 p.m. Thursday at the Lloyd-Dimmick Funeral Home Inc., Irvona.
A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Friday at the funeral home with the Rev. Geno Bartoletti officiating. Burial will be in the Fairview Cemetery Rural LaJose.
