Loren Green, 90, of Hummelstown died Saturday, Nov. 12, 2016 at the home of his son, Loren I. Green of West Decatur.
Mr. Green was born July 30, 1926 in Bigler, the son of Floyd N. and LeVoy C. (Welker) Green.
He was a graduate of the Clearfield Area High School and the Pennsylvania State University.
Mr. Green was a U.S. Navy veteran who had served during World War II.
He had worked as an industrial engineer for Bethlehem Steel of Johnstown, USX of Lorain, Ohio and the U.S. Department of Defense, retiring from the Mechanicsburg Naval Supply Depot.
Mr. Green was an active member of the West Side Church of Christ of Clearfield.
He had served as scout master in Johnstown and as an assistant scout master of Troop 74 in Hummelstown.
He is survived by two children, Loren I. Green and his wife, Ellen of West Decatur and Kimberly Memmi of Hummelstown; eight grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; a sister, Marietta Jones and her husband, William of Woodland; a daughter-in-law, Wendy Green of West Decatur; and a number of nieces and nephews.
Mr. Green was preceded in death by his parents and his wife, Marilyn P. Green. She died April 11, 2016, and they were married Aug. 15, 1947.
He was also preceded in death by a son, Franklin Green and five brothers, Franklin, James, Chester, Harold and Wilbert Green.
Funeral services will be held at 12 p.m. Wednesday, at the Bennett & Houser Funeral Home Inc. of Clearfield with Minister Isaiah Krause officiating.
Burial will be in Bigler Cemetery. Military honors will be accorded at the cemetery by the Clearfield Honor Guard.
Friends will be received from 10 a.m. until 12 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
