Wilma Elaine Nichols Mahlon, 89, of Grampian and also from Florida and Centerburg, Ohio, died Saturday, Oct. 15, 2016 at her residence after a lengthy illness.
Born Jan. 9, 1927 in Centerburg, Ohio, she was the daughter of Leland and Dortha (Myers) Larimore. She had been a secretary for her family’s asphalt business.
She had attended or was a member of the following churches: First Christian Church in Frostproof, Fla., the Greenville Church of the Brethren in Grampian and the Centerburg Church of Christ in Centerburg, Ohio. She was an artist, loved to bowl and also played both the piano and organ.
She first wed Samuel Richard Nichols, who preceded her in death in 1988. She then wed Art Wegner, who preceded her in death in 1993. She was also preceded in death by her parents; a son, William Andrew Nichols on Oct. 2, 2016; a brother, Robert Larimore; and two sisters, Charlotte Barnes and June Heller.
Surviving are her third husband, Roy E. Mahlon, to whom she was wed June 23, 1996 in Centerburg, Ohio; two sons, Richard Dale Nichols and his wife, Kay Ann and James Larimore Nichols and his wife, Jeanette Marie, both of Centerburg, Ohio, and two daughters, Gwen McCullough and Bonnie Kester and her husband, Robert, both of Grampian.
Also surviving are seven grandchildren, several great-grandchildren and a brother, William Larimore and a sister, Dorothy Eyster, both of Centerburg, Ohio.
Funeral services for Mrs. Nichols Mahlon will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday at the Centerburg Church of Christ, 3830 Columbus Rd., Centerburg, OH 43011, with the Rev. Fred A. Albrecht as the main officiant. Burial will be in the Eastview Cemetery in Centerburg, Ohio.
Friends will be received from 5 p.m. – 8 p.m. Tuesday at the Chester C. Chidboy Funeral Home Inc., 300 State St., Curwensville, PA 16833 and again at the church in Centerburg from 10 a.m. until time of services.
