Joseph G. Manfredo, 61, DuBois died Friday, Oct. 14, 2016 at his home after a battel with cancer.
Born April 10, 1955, he was the son of Joseph G. Manfredo Sr. and Ida (Buganza) Manfredo. His father preceded him in death; his mother survives and lives in Penfield.
In 1980, he married Venetia “Nini” (Nolan) Manfredo. She preceded him in death on Sept. 13, 2005.
He retired as an auto mechanic. After retirement, he worked for Brunetti builders in DuBois.
He was an avid golfer and belonged to the DuBois Country Club. He was a member of St. Joseph Roman Catholic Church in DuBois.
As well, he was a member of the Olympic Athletic Club and the Falls Creek Eagles. He enjoyed hunting and fishing.
He was also a youth soccer coach and an assistant soccer coach at DuBois Central, and he was involved with the formation of the annual Nini Manfredo girls’ soccer tournament at DuBois Central Catholic.
In addition to his mother, he is survived by a son, Matthew Joseph Manfredo of Erie; a daughter, Rachael Marie Manfredo of Pittsburgh; a brother, John Manfredo and his wife, Jan of DuBois; a sister, Mary Jo Manfredo Boyer and her husband, Ray of Evanston, Ill.; and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by an infant son, Alex Manfredo, and a brother, Greg Manfredo.
Friends will be received from 2 p.m. – 4 p.m. and from 6 p.m. – 8 p.m. Monday at the Goble-Baronick Funeral Home Inc. A scriptural wake service will be prayed at 1:30 p.m. Monday.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Tuesday, at the St. Joseph Roman Catholic Church in DuBois with Msgr. Richard Siefer as celebrant.
Burial will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery in Force, Pa.
