CLEARFIELD – Nate Kephart attended the Clearfield County Career & Technology Center (CCCTC) for two years and graduated in 2007.
He was a student in the electrical occupations program and also awarded the outstanding student in that program.
During his time at CCCTC, Kephart said the basic general knowledge he learned in the program was a great foundation for helping him get started. He also stated the biggest thing he learned during his time at CCCTC was transformers.
He explained that this has helped him tremendously during his time in the field. He is currently a journeyman lineman for IBEW Local 129.
Some of the many things he does from day-to-day is setting windmills, underground grid, distribution and transmitter lines, storm maintenance and repair, setting and framing poles and working with ITS, which runs the digital message boards and traffic lights.
Kephart is only one example of how CCCTC graduates use their education to strengthen the industry in their field of study.
