Dennis J. ‘Red’ Swatsworth, 57, of Clearfield died Thursday, Oct. 13, 2016 at the UPMC Altoona.
He was born April 12, 1959 in Buffalo, NY, a son of the late Ronald G. and Janet (Steine) Swatsworth.
He was a retired truck driver and loved to watch NASCAR and football, especially the Buffalo Bills.
He also enjoyed shooting pool and was a member of the Clearfield Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie No. 812.
Mr. Swatsworth was a veteran of the U.S. Marines Corps.
He is survived by five children, Richard Thompson and his wife, Karen and Karen Nice, all of Delaware, Michael Thompson and his wife, Ann of Mississippi, and Bryan Evans and companion, Dee and Shawn Evans, all of Clearfield.
He is also survived by several grandchildren; two sisters, Debby St. John and her husband, Bob of Delaware and Laurie Gladfelter and her husband, Tom of Hyde; a brother, Brian Swatsworth of Delaware; and several nieces and nephews. He was also be missed by his beloved dog, Turbo.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, RuthAnn (Kennedy) Swatsworth on Nov. 25, 2014, and a brother, Ronald Swatsworth.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday at the Kevin A. Beardsley Funeral Home, Clearfield, with Sam Maines officiating. Burial will follow in the Bloomington Cemetery, Curwensville.
Friends will be received from 9 a.m. – 11 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
The family suggests that memorial contributions be made to American Cancer Society, 26 S. Second St., Clearfield.
