CLEARFIELD – Joseph B. Bower Jr., president and chief executive officer of CNB Bank, recently announced the promotion of B.J. Sterndale to assistant vice president of training.
Sterndale oversees training requirements for nearly 500 employees. She is responsible for overall employee engagement and morale and leads the Employee Experience committee.
She specializes in new computer software implementation and training, eLearning courses and curriculums, Microsoft Office training, new employee development, mentoring and coaching programs and reward and recognition programs.
Sterndale joined CNB Bank in 1986 as a teller and since that time, she has held the positions of receptionist, training specialist and training officer.
“B.J. has served as a remarkable mentor and leader who projects a positive attitude each and every day,” stated Bower.
“Employee morale is very important, and she works daily to help create a better work environment for our employees. She sets a tremendous example for all of our employees and has been doing so consistently for over 30 years.”
A native of Clearfield, Sterndale is a 1980 graduate of the Clearfield Area High School. She has since earned seven diplomas from the Pennsylvania Banker’s Association/Professional Development Network (PBA/PDN), including general banking, personal banking, consumer lending, banking & finance, commercial lending, mortgage lending, retail branch management, and bank operations diplomas. In addition, she has earned four PBA/PDN certificates: bank teller, CSR, supervisor and team leader.
She has also been selected to participate in CNB’s Leadership Institute, and she previously served as a member of the PA Bankers Advisory Committee.
Sterndale currently resides in Clearfield with her husband, Dennis. They have four children, Brandi Smith, Tyler Shaw, Joshua Sterndale and Matthew Sterndale, and they have three grandchildren.
