KARTHAUS – An inmate from the Quehanna Boot Camp in Karthaus Township has been categorized as an “escapee,” according to state police at Clearfield.
State police identified the inmate as Darlene L. Smouse, 43, of Leckrone, Pa.
State police said Monday morning, Smouse escaped from a private vehicle that was transporting her from the boot camp to a treatment facility in Pittsburgh.
“She was released from the boot camp and directed to report to a halfway house. When she didn’t arrive as required, she is technically an escapee,” state police said.
Smouse is described as being 5 feet, 4 inches tall and approximately 130 pounds, according to state police.
State police are continuing their investigation at this time.
