Martha D. Lynch, 81, of Clearfield died Sunday, Sept. 25, 2016 at the Ridgeview Elder Care and Rehabilitation Center, Curwensville.
She was born May 4, 1935 in Black Mountain, NC, a daughter of the late Fred and Ruth (Lytle) Fortune.
Mrs. Lynch was employed by The Progress for 46 years as the classified advertisement manager.
She was a member of Emmanuel United Methodist Church, Clearfield, as well as the United Methodist Women’s Club.
Mrs. Lynch also held memberships with the Clearfield Business and Professional Women’s Club, Clearfield Welfare Board, Salvation Army Board and the Clearfield Arts Studio Theatre Board.
She also served on the Clearfield Area Agency on Aging Auction Committee and a volunteer and board member for the American Cancer Society. In addition, she was a past member of the Clearfield Hospital Board of Directors and past chairman of Nurse of Hope.
She is survived by her husband, D. Paul Lynch, to whom she was wed Jan. 15, 1966 in Clearfield; two sons, Donny Lynch of State College and Dan Lynch and his wife, Phyllis of Clearfield; and eight grandchildren, Karah Smith and her husband, Andrew, Ryan, Jaidon, Emily, Taye and Kai Lynch and Christopher and Nicholas Osborn.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday at the Kevin A. Beardsley Funeral Home, Clearfield, with the Rev. Mark Brower officiating. Burial will be in the Oak Hill Cemetery, Curwensville.
Friends will be received from 6 p.m. – 8 p.m. Wednesday and from 10 a.m. – 11 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
