Our dear Lord took one of his precious jewels when Linda Thurston, 69, of Clearfield passed away peacefully Saturday, Sept. 24, 2016. She went to be with her loved ones who have passed before.
She was born June 4, 1947 in Clearfield, a daughter of the late Delmont J. and Thelma (Salvatore) Clark.
She retired from Kurtz Bros. after 18 years of employment. Previously, she had been employed at Clearfield Cheese Co. for 22 years.
She will be remembered as the No. 1 Pittsburgh Pirate fan; however, she most loved her family. She was a member of Emmanuel United Methodist Church, Clearfield.
She is survived by her husband, Dwight Thurston, and to whom she was wed April 18, 1970; her sister, Tammy Braid and her husband, William ‘Butch’ of DuBois; and her brother, George Clark and his wife, Peggy of Glen Richey.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her grandparents, Ben and Arada Salvatore with whom she was very close. She also was preceded in death by her brother, Del Clark.
A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday at the Kevin A. Beardsley Funeral Home, Clearfield. Friends will be received from 10 a.m. – 11 a.m. at the funeral home.
The family suggests that memorial contributions be made to Emmanuel United Methodist Church, 1010 Dorey St., Clearfield, or Salem Lutheran Church, c/o Roxie Bloom, 419 Spruce St., Clearfield.
