James “Stratus” Lansberry, 59, died Friday, Sept. 23, 2016 at his residence in DuBois surrounded by family and loved ones.
He was born Feb. 2, 1957 in Clearfield to Dorwyn and Shirley Lansberry. He was a 1975 graduate of the Clearfield Area High School.
Mr. Lansberry lived his life following his dream of being a musician.
He spent more than 40 years as the front man in various bands from his days of “Zacheria” in high school to perhaps his best-known local band, “Yesterday,” over the last three decades.
Always the consummate performer and entertainer, he displayed his love and passion of music for thousands of fans throughout Pennsylvania.
He is survived by his wife, Debbie; his mother, Shirley; his brother, Gary and his wife, Angela; his sister, Pam and her husband, Ken; and his four sons, Joshua and his wife, Cornelia, Shannon and his wife, Carrie, Travis and his wife, Jill and Brennon.
He is also survived by six grandchildren, Jazmyn, Tristian, Alexandra, Trinity, Ella and Rosalie and multiple nieces and nephews.
He was a visionary and “hard” working man who lived his life on his own terms and never let any obstacle stand in his way.
Mr. Lansberry will be honored in a private ceremony at his residence for family and friends.
