Patrick A. Bergum, 57, of West Decatur died Sept. 7, 2016 at his home.
He was born April 15, 1959 in Lackawanna, NY, the son of Arthur and Joan Bergum (Haines Zelenky), both of whom are deceased.
Mr. Bergum was Catholic by faith.
He graduated from the Clearfield Area High School in 1977 and began his career working for Benedict Auto Body.
His previous employers included Sam Lansberry Trucking and Utilities Forestry Service until starting his own business, BASH Contracting, in Clearfield.
He had always been a hard worker and provider. He also served in the Army Reserves, Golden Rod Division, during peace time.
On Oct. 4, 1980, he married Tina M. Dixon of Wallaceton. They had two wonderful daughters, Brandy and Kara.
Also surviving are Brandy’s companion, Gary Dennis; grandson, Aiden Dennis; siblings, Bonnie (Stephen) Barton, Elizabeth “Betsy” (Mike) Guglielmo, Sherrie (Jim) Surkovich, Alan (Sylvia) Haines; and many nephews, nieces, great-nephews and great-nieces.
Mr. Bergum loved his family very much and enjoyed the many special occasion gatherings. He also enjoyed the outdoors, hunting with friends and family, watching the Pirates and Steelers and spending time at camp.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Becky Bergum.
There will be no visitation. A memorial service will be scheduled at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggest donations be made to the Bigler Civic Center, Bigler YMCA (Bigler Civic Center), P.O. Box 417, Bigler, PA 16825.
