KYLERTOWN – Planning for the third annual Kylertown Haunted Hayride is well under way, according to event organizers. It will be held this year on Friday, Oct. 28 and Saturday, Oct. 29.
Volunteers have been building displays and props, which will double the number of “hauntings” along the route. In 2015, well over 800 souls rode the Kylertown Haunted Hayride, and organizers are expecting even more this year.
The hayride starts at the Kylertown Athletic Fields Park and travels a route circling the former Ames Airfield in Kylertown. The airfield was last used in the 1970’s, and the outline of the runways is still visible today.
The route is more than a mile-and-a-half long and takes about 35 minutes from start to finish. Along the route are spooky scenes, which are sure to put visitors into the Halloween mood.
Hayride wagons are pulled by real farm tractors and visitors sit on hay bales as they ride the hay wagon. All rides will begin and end at the Kylertown Athletic Field Park on Kyler Lane in Kylertown.
Hayrides will start at 6 p.m. and continue throughout the evening on both nights. The athletic field’s concession stand will be open both evenings. Hot chocolate, soda, sloppy joes, hot dogs and pumpkin pie will be served.
Proceeds from this event will be used to support the Kylertown Community Association’s operations as well as our planned construction project – a new concession and restroom building at the Kylertown Athletic Park.
