CLEARFIELD – The Clearfield Arts Studio Theatre (CAST) has seen an incredible amount of growth and success this past year.
Under the leadership of a newly-elected board last September, and with the dedication of countless volunteers, it has been able to rejuvenate the hometown arts center and participate in the revitalization of the downtown community.
The mission of CAST is to foster the promotion of community interest in theater, music, art, dance, photography and theatrical productions for education, civic and benevolent purposes.
CAST needs enthusiasm and continued support to bring high-quality opportunities to the area. Its volunteers are proud to say that they have fulfilled their mission this past year, and they plan to do so for years to come.
Many opportunities that were already in place, such as regular season productions, Friday Night Live and music series, have seen growth and success.
Programs that had been lost, like the CAST Youth Show Choir (now named High Voltage), Clearfield Choral Society, and a youth summer camp have been reborn, stronger than ever.
New programs, such as the creative writing workshops, reader’s theatre performances and various classes, are rapidly growing, and succeeding.
If you are interested in being part of the continued success of CAST, its volunteers ask that you become a member, and join them at the annual membership meeting of CAST on Wednesday, Sept. 14 at 6:30 p.m.
Becoming a CAST Member will:
- include voting rights for new board members (members must be present at the membership meeting to vote),
- support regular programs,
- help develop other opportunities throughout the year, and
- grant access to all communications.
Membership forms are available on the CAST Web site at www.ClearfieldArts.org/membership. Membership forms can be mailed to individuals, and will be available at the membership meeting.
If you are interested in running for any of the vacant board seats, or wish to nominate someone to fill the seat, please contact CAST no later than Wednesday, Sept. 7. All board members must be members of CAST.
