Things are about to get even stranger.
The popular “Netflix” series, “Stranger Things” has been renewed for a nine-episode second season.
Netflix released a short clip announcing the news on Wednesday morning with text that read, “In the fall of 1984, the adventure continues.” Also in the clip are what appear to be the episode titles for the new season.
Twin brothers Matt and Ross Duffer — professionally known as the Duffer Brothers — will continue to serve as writers and executive producers of the science fiction horror series, along with Shawn Levy and Dan Cohen.
“Stranger Things” stars Winona Ryder, David Harbour, Matthew Modine, Millie Bobby Brown, Natalia Dyer and Gaten Matarazzo.
No casting updates for next season have been announced.
But in a Facebook Live Wednesday afternoon, the young stars knew exactly what they’d like to season in Season 2: singing.
“That would be really cool if I got to sing,” Matarazzo said in a response to a question about whether he’d be showing off his impressive pipes in the new season. “Millie and Caleb [McLaughlin] they have got some voices too.”
“Natalia is the best singer out of all of us,” Brown added.
Dyer laughed.
“If we get a musical episode, maybe,” Dyer said. “Talk to the Duffers about it.”
Matarazzo isn’t counting on it, though.
“I don’t know if it would fit in with the whole show,” he admitted. “I don’t think you’ll see it in Season 2.”
“Stranger Things” will return in 2017.
