Real Relationships, the newest program of Children’s Aid Society, offers marriage and relationship education classes and workshops to residents of Clearfield County and the eight surrounding counties.
There is something for everyone regardless of age or relationship status. The program provides weekly classes for individuals and couples; one-day workshops for engaged couples or couples interested in marriage; and couples retreats for married couples.
Participants will learn about communication danger signs and positive communication skills, stress management techniques, skills for handling conflict and building teamwork in a relationship.
Meals and gas cards, in addition to other incentives, such as childcare for weekly classes and overnight hotel stays for couples’ retreats, will be provided at no cost to participants.
Free weekly classes for couples will be held from 6 p.m. – 8:30 p.m. Mondays at First United Presbyterian Church in DuBois, beginning Oct. 10, and Wednesdays at the Moshannon Valley YMCA in Philipsburg, beginning Oct. 12.
Free weekly classes individuals will be held from 6 p.m. – 8:30 p.m. Tuesdays at Abba’s Coffeehouse in DuBois, beginning Oct. 11 or Thursdays at the Moshannon Valley YMCA in Philipsburg.
One-day workshops and couples retreats will be held at Lock Haven University, Clearfield campus, in September, in Johnstown in October, and in Indiana in November.
