CLEARFIELD – District Attorney William A. Shaw Jr. has announced Clearfield County’s Fugitive of the Week.
Shaw identified the fugitive as Vincent Aaron, 27, of Franklin Street, DuBois. Aaron is wanted for failure to appear at a preliminary hearing Aug. 5, at which time a warrant was issued for his arrest.
On June 28, 2016, Officer Lance Thompson of the DuBois City Police Department filed a criminal complaint in which he charged Aaron with driving under the influence of a controlled substance, M; possession of a controlled substance, M; use/possession of drug paraphernalia, M; driving under suspension, S; and related traffic offenses.
According to the affidavit of probable cause, on April 9 officers responded to a report about a two-vehicle accident. Upon arrival Thompson determined that Aaron had failed to stop his vehicle at a red light, causing it to strike another vehicle.
Upon making contact with Aaron, police allegedly detected signs of impairment. At that time, another officer told Thompson that he located two glass pipes as well as a vial containing a white crystalized substance that Aaron had related was methamphetamine.
Police subsequently conducted field sobriety tests, and Aaron was transported to the DuBois Penn Highlands Hospital for blood testing.
A preliminary hearing was held Aug. 5 at which time Aaron failed to appear, and a warrant was issued for his arrest.
Aaron is described as a Caucasian male standing 5 feet, 8 inches tall. He has brown hair and eyes.
