Edward S. Karoleski, 89, of DuBois died Wednesday, Aug. 24, 2016 at Christ the King Manor.
Born April 12, 1927, he was the son of the late Stanley and Lottie (Maletski) Karoleski.
On April 23, 1949, he married Victoria (Dobinski) Karoleski. She preceded him in death on Feb. 18, 2013.
He was a veteran of the U.S. Army who had served in World War II. He worked for National Fuel Gas Co. and then for Ward Trucking in DuBois for 37 years.
He was a member of St. Michael the Archangel Roman Catholic Church.
He was also a member of the Polish Citizens Club, the Knights of Columbus Council 519 and a lifetime member of the James J. Patterson Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 813. He loved bowling and playing baseball and softball.
He is survived by four children, David Karoleski and Donald Karoleski, both of DuBois, Linda Karoleski Ogorchock and her husband, Michael of Montgomery, Texas and Kevin Karoleski and his wife, Laurie of St. Marys; a brother, Leo Karoleski of DuBois; seven grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren with one due in September. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by a sister, Helen Zatsick.
There will be no visitation.
A memorial mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 17, at the St. Michael the Archangel Roman Catholic Church with Msgr. Richard Siefer as celebrant. Full military honors will be accorded from the church.
Burial will be in St. Michael’s Cemetery.
