CLEARFIELD – Tyler Kirkwood, commercial banker of CNB Bank, was recognized for achieving honor student status from the Pennsylvania Bankers Association (PA Bankers) Advanced School of Banking at the (PA Bankers) Group 6 meeting held April 13 at The Calvin House in Duncansville. Honor students are selected for outstanding work presented on six home extension problems.
This three-year program is analogous to 200-, 300- and 400-level college course study with the BankExec™ asset/liability simulation comprising a significant portion of year 3.
A variety of learning techniques, including lectures, small group teamwork, computer simulations, online learning, case studies, peer presentations, independent study and home extension problems keep students interested and engaged.
The school also provides an unparalleled opportunity to network with other professionals in the banking industry.
Kirkwood has served the banking industry for nine years. He began his career at CNB in 2007 as a part-time teller, working through college on his summer breaks.
In 2012, he completed the bank’s Management Training Program, and since that time, he has been promoted to community office manager and regional branch administrator. He currently serves as a commercial banker at the bank’s main office.
A native of Frenchville, Kirkwood graduated from Clearfield Area High School in 2007 before earning his Bachelor’s degree in psychology at Grove City College in 2011.
“It has been exciting to see Tyler advance within our organization and I’m thrilled to see him recognized by the PA Bankers for his hard work,” said Greg Dixon, CNB market executive.
Kirkwood currently resides in Clearfield with his wife, Megan, and daughter Selah. He is a member of Karthaus Community Alliance Church. He volunteers his time as a Clearfield Junior High football coach and is a member of the Clearfield YMCA board of directors.
