As Shannen Doherty battles breast cancer, she is looking to put her legal troubles behind her.
The “90210” star and her former business manager have reached a settlement in a lawsuit she filed against him in 2015 for failing to pay her insurance premiums, according to court documents obtained by CNN.
A notice of settlement was filed Friday in the case, but the deal is conditional on “the satisfactory completion of specified terms that are to be performed within 45 days of the date of settlement.” The financial terms of the agreement were not disclosed.
In Doherty’s lawsuit, she claimed that her “invasive breast cancer,” which was diagnosed in March, had spread during 2014 when she was uninsured due to her ex-manager’s alleged error. The suit claims that if the cancer had been caught earlier, she wouldn’t have had to undergo chemotherapy and a mastectomy.
Doherty has been very open about her battle with cancer and even shared the intimate moment when she shaved her hair on Instagram.
In a recent interview with Entertainment Tonight, the actress reveled her cancer had spread.
“I had breast cancer that spread to the lymph nodes, and from one of my surgeries we discovered that some of the cancer cells might have actually gone out of the lymph nodes,” Doherty said. “So for that reason, we are doing chemo, and then after chemo, I’ll do radiation.”
