CLEARFIELD – On Saturday, Aug. 6, the Clearfield County 4-H Teen Council announced the Top 3 winners of its Annual 4-H & FFA Royalty Contest. The contest was open to current 4-H and FFA members, as well as 4-H and FFA alumni.
The contest served three primary objectives: to increase awareness of the 4-H and FFA programs; to recognize the current and past 4-H and FFA members for their involvement and dedication to the programs; and to raise money for the programs.
Fairgoers had the opportunity to read bios and view pictures of each nominee and vote in a locked box in both the Expo 2 Building and Grange & Agricultural Building. Monetary donations were collected throughout fair week and tabulated to determine the winners.
The 2016 winners of the 4-H & FFA Royalty Contest are:
- First Place – Ronni Berlin of DuBois
- Second Place – Lauren Turner of Philipsburg
- Third Place – Cory Leonard of Frenchville
The winners received various 4-H-themed gifts, as well as a gift certificate to Neeper’s Sweet Treats of Clearfield and selected a gift card of their choice. Other nominees for 2016 included: Eric Bradford of Falls Creek, Chelsea Folmar of Luthersburg, Mike “MP” Kerr of New Jersey (formerly of Clearfield), Gillian Letson of Philipsburg and Sydney Turner of Philipsburg.
Thanks to the generous support of fairgoers, more than $250 was made from this fundraiser, which will support various activities of the Clearfield County 4-H Teen Council.
