Loretta J. Gulvas, 84, of DuBois died Sunday, Aug. 21, 2016 at her home. Born Dec. 20, 1931 in Brockway, she was the daughter of Louis and Agnes (Stonek) Benigni.
On July 30, 1955, she married Michael A. Gulvas. He preceded her in death on Dec. 12, 2013.
She was a homemaker and a member of St. Michael the Archangel Roman Catholic Church.
In her youth, she was an accomplished accordion player in the area, playing many times at the Belvedere in Elk County.
She so loved her family and enjoyed spending time with her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She adored being with each of them and following their many activities.
She was an avid sports fan and especially loved following the Pittsburgh Pirates.
She is survived by her children, Denny Gulvas and his wife, Karen, Theresa Kister and her husband, Kevin, Kathleen Hanslovan and her husband, Ron, Ed Gulvas and his wife, Sueann and Cindy Foster and her husband, Gary, all of DuBois; 15 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
Friends will be received from 4 p.m. – 7 p.m. Tuesday at the Goble-Baronick Funeral Home.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Wednesday at the St. Michael the Archangel Roman Catholic Church with Fr. Richard Tomasone as celebrant. Burial will be in St. Michael’s Cemetery.
