Ferman E. Bailey, 89, Spencerport, NY, died Friday, Aug. 19, 2016 at Penn Highlands DuBois.
Born Jan. 14, 1927 in Rockton, he was the son of the late Cecil and Lena (McDonald) Bailey.
He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy who had served in World War II.
On Oct. 16, 1954, he married Janet (Hatch) Bailey. She preceded him in death on May 13, 2015.
He was a dentist and owned his own practice.
He was a member of the St. John’s Lutheran Church in Rockton and the United Methodist Church in North Chili, NY.
He was also a member of the American Dental Association and the Mason and Scottish Rite.
He is survived by his four children, Marjorie Roberts and her husband, Graham of Rochester, NY; Barbara Bailey of Harleysville, Pa.; Stephen Bailey of Kalispell, Mont., and David Bailey and his wife, Colleen of Mooresville, NC; five grandchildren, William, Kristen, Zachary, Cody and Hannah; and three great-grandchildren, Liam, Molly and Bailey.
He was preceded in death by five siblings. He was the last member of his immediate family.
There will be no public visitation.
A memorial service will be held at a later date in Rochester, NY at the convenience of the family.
