State police at Clearfield
- State police received a report about an attempted burglary that occurred Sunday on the Shawville-Frenchville Highway in Girard Township. During the incident, someone allegedly attempted to enter the front door of the victims’ residence. They weren’t successful and there wasn’t anything taken, state police said. Anyone with information is asked to contact the state police at Clearfield at 814-857-3800.
- State police received a report about an incident of disorderly conduct that occurred Sunday on Stone Street in Osceola Mills Borough. During the incident, an Osceola Mills man had allegedly been making unreasonable noise for several hours.
State police at Philipsburg
- Between April 2 and May 2, four different people allegedly passed a total of six bad checks at the Snappy’s Convenience Store in Philipsburg Borough. State police are continuing their investigation at this time.
- State police reported an incident of back checks that occurred May 9 on North Ninth Street in Philipsburg Borough. Further, a Warriors Mark man allegedly wrote a bad check to the victim.
- State police reported an incident of access device fraud that occurred July 5 on Walnut Street in Rush Township. Further, the victim told state police that he noticed transactions on his checking account.
- State police received a report about an incident of harassment that occurred Friday on South Mountain Road in Worth Township. Upon arrival troopers discovered two Port Matilda women were allegedly involved in a shoving match. Both were cited for the incident through the district court.
- State police responded to the Mount Nittany Medical Center for a report about a stabbing. Upon arrival at the hospital, the victim told troopers that on Aug. 13 he had been stabbed by an unknown Caucasian male on Water Street in Philipsburg Borough. The victim indicated that he wasn’t able to recall any basic features of the suspect other than he was a male. State police are continuing their investigation at this time.
- State police reported a DUI crash Thursday on Casovana Road in Rush Township. Further, a 25-year-old man lost control of his truck while negotiating a right-hand curve. His truck went off the left side of the roadway, down an embankment and overturned onto its driver’s side. State police say the man suffered moderate injuries and was taken to Mount Nittany Medical Center for treatment. Also, state police determined he was under the influence of alcohol, and charges will be filed pending blood alcohol testing results.
State police at DuBois
- On Sunday state police stopped a vehicle operated by a Denver, Colo. Woman for a traffic violation at the intersection of West DuBois Avenue and DuBois Street in DuBois City. Upon approaching the vehicle, state police detected a strong odor of marijuana. Then, upon interview with the woman and further investigation, state police searched the vehicle and allegedly located marijuana and drug paraphernalia. Charges will be filed against the woman and another occupant of the vehicle, a Philadelphia woman, state police said.
- State police reported the theft of an all-terrain vehicle that occurred sometime Friday or Saturday on Coal Hill Road near Brumbaugh Road in Brady Township. During the incident, someone allegedly took the ATV by pushing it out to the roadway from behind a shed. It was a 1980’s model Suzuki 250 Quad Raptor with gray plastic and a blue seat. Anyone with information is asked to contact the state police at DuBois at 814-371-4652.
- On Thursday a DuBois woman, Chelsie M. Knapp, was placed under arrest on a bench warrant out of Jefferson County. A search was conducted of Knapp and she was allegedly found to be in possession of drugs and drug paraphernalia. Charges were filed through the district court as a result, state police said.
State police at Punxsutawney
- State police received a report about an incident of criminal mischief that occurred Thursday or Friday at the intersection of Ridge and Fox Run roads in Bell Township. During the incident, someone allegedly spray-painted the victim’s “Trump: Make America Great Again” sign. They also allegedly spray-painted a second victim’s roadway with obscene language directed toward the first victim and Trump. - State police reported an incident of DUI/resisting arrest that occurred Sunday on Knoxdale Road in Knox Township. Further, troopers stopped a Brookville man for traffic violations and he was allegedly determined to be under the influence. During their encounter, he also allegedly became physically resistant and refused to comply. He was subsequently charged for the incident and lodged in Jefferson County Jail.
- State police reported an incident of DUI that occurred Sunday on Route 322 in Pine Creek Township. Further, troopers stopped a Brookville man and allegedly determined he was under the influence. Charges are currently pending at this time, state police said in the report.
- State police conducted a sobriety checkpoint over the weekend on Route 36 in Young Township. Troopers made contact with 94 motorists and had four DUI arrests and one misdemeanor arrest. State police reported three seatbelt citations, 19 “other” citations and one underage drinking citation; they also issued 83 written warnings and served one bench warrant.
State police at Ridgway
- State police received a report about an incident of theft that occurred Saturday at the Wal-Mart store in Fox Township. During the incident, the victim forgot her purse in a shopping cart and exited the store. When she returned a short time later, her purse was missing, state police said. State police are continuing their investigation and anyone with information is asked to contact the Ridgway barracks at 814-776-6136.
- State police reported an ATV crash that occurred Sunday behind a residence on Hayes Road in Kersey. Upon investigation state police found a juvenile had lost control of the ATV and was thrown off. He suffered minor injuries to his hip, state police said in the report.
Clearfield Borough
- Police received a complaint about a male who was loitering and trespassing around a residence on Dorey Street. He was evicted from the apartment and had allegedly returned and committed acts of criminal mischief.
- Police received a complaint about a bad check from a local business.
- Police responded to Leavy Avenue for a report about damage done to a vehicle while it was parked there.
- Police responded to a Turnpike Avenue residence for a report about an alleged domestic assault. Further, police found that there was a physical altercation and a male was arrested for his actions.
- Police responded to Weaver Street for a report about criminal mischief to a garage building. It was found that the actor allegedly spray-painted a word on it, and he/she was later found, police said.
- Police assisted Lawrence Township police with a traffic stop on Route 322
- Police located a female at Lower Witmer Park who was wanted on warrants. She was arrested and taken to the Clearfield County Jail.
- Police responded to East Market Street for a report about a female who was to be under the influence. She was located and determined to be on probation and to allegedly have drug paraphernalia with her.
- Police responded to South Fourth Street for a report about criminal mischief to a building. The victim returned home and allegedly discovered that the window was broken on his porch, police said.
- Police responded to the Clearfield Penn Highlands Hospital to assist the staff with a patient.
- Police responded to a Woodland Road address for the alleged theft of items from a refrigerator that was located outside the residence.
- Police responded to Williams Street for a report about a car playing loud music. However, it had left prior to police arrival.
Lawrence Township
- Police received numerous reports about bad checks that were passed at local businesses.
- Police received a report about a dog that was inside of a vehicle at Wal-Mart. However, it wasn’t in distress, police said.
- Police received a report about an alleged incident of trespassing in the area of a local business on Route 879.
- Police received a report about a suspicious vehicle in the area of Hillsdale.
- Police received a report about the same suspicious vehicle but in the area of Willow Drive. It was noted that police made contact with the individuals.
- Police received a report about a runaway juvenile in the area of Morrison Road.
- Police received a report about an incident of disorderly conduct in the area of Hill Street. It was unfounded.
- Police responded to a 911 hang-up call on Capitol Hill Road.
- Police received a civil complaint that occurred in the area of High Street.
- Police received an animal complaint that occurred in the area of Byers Street.
- Police responded to Wal-Mart numerous times for a male who was allegedly being disorderly.
- Police responded to a report about a disabled vehicle on River Road.
- Police responded to a 911 hang-up call on Lytle Road.
- Police received a report about an alleged incident of harassment in the area of Good Street.
- Police received a report about an alleged incident of harassment by communications in the area of T-Lane.
- Police responded to a report about a fight at the Economy Inn.
- Police received a report about an alleged theft in the area of Hill Street.
- Police received a report about an alleged theft from Lowe’s.
- Police assisted a motorist with a vehicle lockout at the Snappy’s Convenience Store.
- Police received a report about a suspicious vehicle at the Family Dollar Store.
- Police received a report about an alleged incident of assault that occurred in the area of Summit Street.
- Police received a report about a disabled vehicle in the area of Route 153.
DuBois City
- On Friday police were dispatched to a West Scribner Avenue address for a group of people who were making noise. However, the group of Pokémon players left the area upon police arrival.
- Police were dispatched to the Penn Highlands emergency room Friday for a report about an assault. Further, a female gave several versions of the incident to officers; it was determined that the injuries were self-inflicted, police said.
- Police were dispatched to the intersection of Spring Avenue and South Main Street for a large group of people yelling on Friday. However, officers were unable to locate anyone in the area.
- On Friday police stopped a Ford Ranger traveling on South Main Street because the driver had a warrant for his arrest. Richard Gilbert was taken into custody on a warrant issued by State Parole, police said. Gilbert was later transported to the Clearfield County Jail by State Parole agents.
- Police received a report about an incident of harassment on Friday. Both parties were advised to stop having contact with one another, police said.
- Police were dispatched to Joe’s Tux Shop on West Long Avenue Friday for a male who was allegedly fighting with employees. Officers made contact with the male who was behind the counter and still engaged in argument. He allegedly failed to comply with officers’ orders and was arrested for public drunkenness and disorderly conduct. He was then transported to the Clearfield County Jail.
- On Friday police were dispatched to a West Long Avenue address for a noise complaint. However, officers did not hear any noise coming from the suspected apartment and cleared without incident.
- Police were dispatched to a South Avenue address for a possible break-in on Friday. According to the report, the caller stated that when she left her residence earlier in the night, the basement door was closed. When she returned home, she found it open. Officers found that the door, which was from the main part of the residence from the basement, was locked. Police searched the residence and found nothing out of the ordinary.
- Police responded to a report about a woman screaming inside of a house Saturday at the intersection of Wood Street and Spring Avenue. Officers attempted to make contact with someone who was inside but had negative results. Police remained on the scene for a while but didn’t hear anything, and they advised the caller to contact them again if necessary.
- Police responded to a report about an alleged disturbance Saturday at the DuBois Penn Highlands Hospital. PH Security advised police that a male and female were arguing and the female was running around the hospital screaming. The female was asked to leave the hospital by security but failed to comply, they said. However, she had fled on foot prior to the officers’ arrival but was identified and cited for trespassing and disorderly conduct.
- Police were dispatched to a North Brady Street address for a female who was reportedly overdosing on methamphetamine on Saturday. However, officers could not locate her and checked a former residence. Officers in Reynoldsville located the female who was found not to be under the influence.
- On Sunday police responded to the 300 block of South State Street for a child who was reported as being in the roadway and unattended. Officers located the child back at his residence on South Avenue and spoke with his mother. He was not injured and officers cleared without further incident.
- On Sunday police were dispatched to Penn Highlands Hospital for an intoxicated patient who was attempting to leave. PH security was able to return the patient to the emergency room prior to the officers’ arrival.
- On Sunday police responded to a domestic disturbance at a South Brady Street address. The incident was verbal only and the male had already packed belongings to leave, police said in the report. Officers cleared the scene without incident.
