An explosion at a wedding hall in southeastern Turkey’s Gaziantep province Saturday evening left several people injured, reported state-run news agency Anadolu.
The Gaziantep Bureau Chief of Ihlas News Agency, Orhan Akin, told CNN Turk that he saw “at least 20 ambulances carrying injured people.”
Regional Governor Ali Yerlikaya called the incident a “terror attack” and said it took place in Akdere neighborhood of the Sahinbey district, Anadolu reported.
No details on casualties were immediately available.
Gaziantep is about 95 kilometers (60 miles) north of the war-torn Syrian city of Aleppo.
