Leatrice “Peaches” Hunt of Houtzdale died Tuesday, Aug. 16, 2016 at Mount Nittany Medical Center, State College.
Born Nov. 28, 1928 in Clearfield, she was the daughter of the late Clifford and Rena (Haag) Cupler.
She was a member of the First United Methodist Church, Houtzdale, and attended the First Presbyterian Church, Houtzdale.
She enjoyed baking and was famous for her raisin-filled cookies and cream pies.
She was employed by Sylvania for 25 years and retired from Short Way in Clearfield.
She was a member and past president of the former Houtzdale Fire Company Ladies Auxiliary and a volunteer at the Houtzdale Senior Center Food Bank for 10 years.
On Feb. 27, 1949 Winchester, Va., she married George M. Hunt, who preceded her in death on Nov. 20, 2014.
Surviving are a son, George L. Hunt and his wife, Mary of Owings Mills, Md.; a daughter, Marsha Srock of Smokerun; three grandchildren, Regina Hunt of South Caroline, Christina Ripps and her husband, Jeff of Maryland and Janelle Hollenbaugh and her husband, Todd of DuBois; a great-granddaughter, Jolie Ripps, and a sister, Janet Luzier of Yacca Valley, Calif.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, a grandson, Ryan Foreman, a brother, Clair Cupler, two sisters Esther Carns and June Kavelak and an infant brother, Blair
At her request, there will be no public visitation. A memorial service will be held at a later date.
