Robert J. Folmar, 84, of Kylertown went to be with the Lord on Sunday, Aug. 14, 2016 at UPMC Altoona, Altoona.
Born March 22, 1932 in Grassflat, he was the son of the late Albert and Velma (Lucas) Folmar.
He wed Helen (Hessog) Folmar, who survives in Kylertown. They were married for 61 years and lived all of those years in the home they built together.
Mr. Folmar was a life-long member of the St. Severin Roman Catholic Church, Drifting. He was a veteran of the Korean War, and he served in the U.S. Army.
Surviving are his sons, David Folmar of Conway, Pa., and William Folmar and his wife, Cindy of Marietta, Pa., three grandchildren, Amanda Miller and her husband, Russell of Mechanicsville, Va., Jason Folmar and his wife, Katie of Pittsburgh and Robert Folmar of Marietta, Pa., and two great-grandchildren, RJ and William Miller.
Also surviving are a brother, Milton Folmar and his wife, Thelma of Philipsburg and three sisters, Ruth Ann Hubler and her husband, Roy of Drifting, Mildred Moriarity and her husband, Dewey of Winburne and Carol Nadzom and her husband, Edward of State College.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Paul B. Folmar and a daughter-in-law, Anna Maria Folmar.
Family and friends will be received from 2 p.m. – 4 p.m. and from 6 p.m. – 8 p.m. Wednesday at Johnson Funeral Home, Grassflat.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Thursday, at the St. Severin Roman Catholic Church, Drifting, with Father David A. Perry Jr as celebrant. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
