At least 21 people were killed and five others were injured in a pipeline explosion in central China on Thursday, officials said.
The blast occurred when a high-pressure steam pipe burst at a power company facility in Hubei province, the State Administration of Work Safety said in a statement on its website.
A government team responded to the scene to direct rescue efforts and “implement scientific remedies to prevent such an event from happening again,” the statement said.
Authorities haven’t released details about what caused the explosion.
