State police at DuBois
- State police reported a theft that occurred sometime Aug. 2-3 on Hormtown Road in Winslow Township. During the incident, someone allegedly siphoned gas from the victim’s 1997 Volvo 850 GLT and removed two GPS units from inside it. Anyone with information is asked to contact the state police at DuBois at 814-371-4652.
- State police responded to a four-vehicle crash Monday on Interstate 80 eastbound in Union Township. Further, a vehicle operated by Kevin J. Gensler of Knox was traveling eastbound and approaching stopped traffic due to another crash. He became distracted and failed to see the traffic until he didn’t have any time to apply his brakes. His vehicle subsequently struck that operated by Michelle M. Hyde of Conneautville, Pa., which pushed it into a vehicle operated by Richard A. Stitt of New Castle. The Gensler vehicle continued traveling eastbound before running out of momentum, at which point it began to coast backwards and struck a vehicle operated by Barbara P. Cummins of Las Cruces, NM. State police believe Gensler and Hyde sustained serious and minor injuries, respectively. State police were assisted at the scene by the Sandy Township Fire Department, DuBois Emergency Medical Services, PennDOT and towing services.
State police at Ridgway
- State police received a report about an incident of retail theft that occurred Sunday at Wal-Mart in Fox Township. During the incident, someone allegedly removed retail items without paying the full value.
- State police received a report about an incident of retail theft that occurred Saturday at the Wal-Mart store in Fox Township. During the incident, an unknown female allegedly exited the store without paying for merchandise she had hidden on her person. Employees confronted her as she exited the store; however, she fled the scene. Anyone with information is asked to contact the state police at Ridgway at 814-776-6136.
Lawrence Township
- Police received a report about a traffic light that wasn’t functioning properly in the area of South Second Street and the Clearfield-Curwensville Highway.
- Police received a report about an alleged incident of harassment in the area of Palmer Street.
- Police received a report about an alleged drug violation in the area of the Clearfield-Shawville Highway.
- Police conducted a warrant service on a male.
- Police were dispatched to a business alarm and determined everything was OK.
- Police were dispatched for a report about a suspicious male at a business along South Second Street. Upon arrival police found he was playing a game on his phone.
- While on routine patrol, police found an open door at a business along Daisy Street Extension. Further, police made contact with the key holder who arrived to secure the business.
