Robert “Lee” Lannen, 72, of Karthaus died Aug. 4, 2016 at Mount Nittany Medical Center, State College.
Born in the 11th month on the 12th day of 1943 in Lanse, he was the son of the late William F. and Sarah Hughes Lannen. On July 4, 1964 in Winburne, he married Carol Teats Lannen, who survives in Karthaus.
Surviving are a daughter, Christy A. Thomas and her husband, Robert of Morrisdale and a son, Robert Lee Lannen Jr. of Morrisdale.
Surviving are two grandchildren, Taylor Ann Thomas of Morgantown, W.Va. and Hannah Rae Thomas of Morrisdale.
Also surviving are two sisters, Charlotte Gruendler and her husband, Eugene of York, Pa., and Doris Pelton of El Paso, Texas and two brothers, William F. Lannen Jr. of Lanse and James Lannen of Morrisdale.
He was preceded in death by his parents and two sisters, Mary Jane Lannen and Sharon Shoffner.
A public visitation will be held from 2 p.m. – 5 p.m. Sunday, at Strange & Weaver Funeral Service, Morrisdale.
Funeral services will be private. Burial will be in Oak Hill Memorial Cemetery, Karthaus.
Mr. Lannen was a 1962 graduate of the West Branch/Cooper Township High School. He was a member of the Karthaus Volunteer Fire Company, Karthaus; the Karthaus Park Association; a former member and board member of the Oak Hill Memorial Cemetery Association and the Covington—Karthaus-Goshen Water Authority.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions be made to: Karthaus Volunteer Fire Company, Karthaus, Pa., or Oak Hill Memorial Cemetery, Karthaus, Pa.
