“It goes fast. Life goes fast,” Bennett told CNN at his 90th birthday party Wednesday night.
“I’m 90 but I still feel like I’m about 35 years old,” he said. “The audience has always made me feel accepted. I’ve been sold out throughout my whole life, performing throughout the world, it’s a great gift and I’m very honored to have had a great life entertaining people.”
Bennett, who’s won 19 Grammy awards over a career that’s spanned more than 65 years, celebrated the milestone moment with a huge bash at New York City’s Rainbow Room with a star studded guest list that included John Travolta, Katie Couric, Lady Gaga and Regis Philbin.
Bennett, who attended the party with his wife of nine years, Susan Benedetto, said that he credits a lot of his happiness to her. “I have a beautiful wife who is wonderful to me,” he said smiling ear-to-ear. “I just love everything about her, so I’m very content with that.”
As for what’s next? “I’d like to do another album with Lady Gaga. We get along so great and our first album sold so much.” He added with a laugh, “And she really needs the money.”
