Harriet Ruth Royer, 82, of Spring Valley, West Decatur RD, died Tuesday, Aug. 2, 2016 at her home.
Born May 11, 1934 at Philipsburg, she was a daughter of Harry John “Zeke” and Esther (Molleca) Williams.
She was a 1952 graduate of Philipsburg High School and affiliated with the Spring Valley United Methodist Church.
She first worked at the General Cigar Factory and later at the Presbyterian Home, Philipsburg, and the former Clear Haven, Clearfield, where she was a nurse’s aide.
She enjoyed spending time with her family, playing bingo and games, going to casinos, fishing and camping at Kettle Creek State Park.
She will be sorely missed by her family and all who knew her.
On Nov. 27, 1971 at Philipsburg, she married Leo M. “Sonny” Royer, who survives.
Surviving are a daughter, Terrie Marie Katchik and her husband, Greg “Guz” of Philipsburg, a son, Gary John Croyle and his wife, Sue of Allport, a daughter, Lori Orndorff and her husband, James of Roundhill, Va., and a daughter-in-law, Susan Croyle of Osceola Mills.
Also surviving are two sisters, Georganna Lumadue and her husband, Dennis and Deborah Neidrick and her husband, Michael, all of North Philipsburg; seven grandchildren, Bill Guenot and his wife, Stacy, Tim Guenot and his wife, Becky, Curtis Guenot, Noelle Croyle and her significant other, Luke Darby, Josh Croyle and his wife, Lindsey, Adam Croyle and his wife, Lora and Addy Orndorff; and seven great-grandchildren, Isaac Guenot, Luke Guenot, Tristyn Slogosky, Talya Darby, Conor Guenot, Drew Guenot and Jordynn Guenot.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Charles Robert “Charlie” Croyle Jr. and a sister, Olive “Ollie” Sallurday.
A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday at the David K. Dahlgren Funeral Home, with the Rev. Thomas Harmic officiating. Burial will be at Spring Valley Cemetery, West Decatur RD.
Friends will be received from 2 p.m. – 4 p.m. and from 6 p.m. – 8 p.m. Thursday and from 10 a.m. – 11 a.m. Friday at the funeral home.
