State Police Investigating Attempted Kidnapping Incident in Philipsburg

PHILIPSBURG – State police at Philipsburg have initiated an investigation into an attempted kidnapping that occurred late Sunday night in the 500 block of East Pine Street in Philipsburg Borough.

According to state police, the victim was walking at approximately 11 p.m. when she observed an older black sedan stopped at the intersection. Its driver’s side headlight wasn’t working; a passenger exited and crossed the street.

She walked by the vehicle at which time she was approached by the driver who allegedly grabbed her and attempted to get her to come with him. She was able to free herself and flee from the scene.

The passenger returned to the vehicle, and both males got back inside. They then fled the scene, according to state police. Both males were described as Caucasian males in their 30’s.

State police described the driver as being bald with a tribal tattoo on his left arm. He was approximately 6 feet, 3 inches tall. His passenger was wearing a tan cowboy hat and approximately 5 feet, 8 inches tall.
