State police at Clearfield
- State police received a report about an incident of theft by unlawful taking that occurred Sunday at the Woodland Park in Bradford Township. During the incident, someone allegedly took four horse shoe pegs and five turtle traps from the park. Anyone with information is asked to contact the state police at Clearfield at 814-857-3800.
- State police received a report about an incident of theft by unlawful taking that occurred Saturday or Sunday on Dutchtown Road in Bigler Township. During the incident, someone allegedly took a Xanax prescription and $80 that belonged to the victims. Anyone with information is asked to contact the state police at Clearfield at 814-857-3800.
State police at DuBois
- State police received a report about an incident of DUI that occurred Sunday on Route 219 in Washington Township. Further, a Rockton man was stopped for several summary traffic violations and while making contact with him, it was evident that he was allegedly under the influence of alcohol. He was subsequently arrested for DUI and other summary charges, which are pending blood test results.
- State police will conduct a sobriety checkpoint in August in Jefferson County. Also, state police would like to remind motorists not to drink and drive.
State police at Philipsburg
- State police received a report about an incident of burglary that occurred sometime Saturday or Sunday in the 700 block of South Front Street in Rush Township. During the incident, someone allegedly forced entry into a detached garage and removed a set of wrenches and a hand drill. State police are continuing their investigation at this time.
- State police received a report about an incident of simple assault that occurred July 18 at the intersection of Front and Presqueisle streets in Philipsburg Borough. Upon arrival to the scene, state police found that two juvenile females were allegedly engaged in a fight. Shortly after that, two adult male were allegedly engaged in a separate fight. Several suspects fled the scene prior to state police arrival, and the incident remains under investigation at this time.
- State police received a report about an incident of simple assault that occurred Thursday at the Weis store in Philipsburg Borough. Upon arrival state police found that two Philipsburg teen males allegedly assaulted the victim in the parking lot. However, all had fled prior to the arrival of state police. Both males have been cited through the district court, and the investigation is ongoing at this time.
- State police received a report about an incident of theft that occurred June 25 on Cattynine Trail in Huston Township. During the incident, someone allegedly stole a cat but it was later returned to the victim.
State police at Ridgway
- State police conducted a sobriety checkpoint on Route 948 in Fox Township. During the checkpoint, troopers stopped approximately 54 vehicles, and there weren’t any drivers found to be under the influence. State police issued nine warnings for vehicle code violations.
- State police received a report about an incident of burglary that occurred sometime between July 9 and Saturday on Elm Drive in Spring Creek Township. Upon arrival someone allegedly entered the victim’s camp and removed numerous items before fleeing the scene. Anyone with information is asked to contact the state police at Ridgway at 814-776-6136.
Clearfield Borough
- Police assisted with moving a disabled vehicle from Bridge Street. Police then assisted the driver with getting to his destination.
- Police received a parking complaint on South Fourth Street, where a vehicle was illegally parked in a handicapped parking space.
- Police responded to a residence on Leavy Avenue for a report about a possible Protection from Abuse violation.
- Police responded to South Fifth Street for a report about alleged criminal mischief to a vehicle.
- Police observed a vehicle that was partially on the roadway and its driver was passed out inside. Further, police made contact with the driver who was allegedly determined to be under the influence. Police subsequently arrested the driver for DUI.
- Police stopped a vehicle for a traffic violation and allegedly determined that the driver was under the influence. Police subsequently arrested the driver for DUI.
- Police received a report about a possible PFA violation, which was unfounded.
- Police responded to Fulton Street for a mental health patient. The patient was transported to Penn Highlands Clearfield for treatment, police said.
- Police responded to Lower Witmer Park for a report about juveniles who were allegedly lighting unknown items on fire.
- Police received a report about a stolen license plate for a vehicle that was parked on Elk Avenue.
- Police stopped a vehicle for driving without headlights on East Market Street. Its driver was allegedly determined to be under the influence and was subsequently arrested for DUI.
- Police received a request to check the welfare of a male on Reed Street. He was found to be having mental health issues and transported to Penn Highlands Clearfield for treatment, police said.
- Police stopped a vehicle on North Front Street that didn’t have on its headlights. The driver was allegedly determined to be under the influence and arrested for DUI.
- Police responded to North Front Street for a report about a disturbance over a stolen bike.
- Police responded to an alarm at a local business. Further, police found that it had been accidentally set off by individuals working there.
- Police received a report about the alleged theft of a fish tank from the front of a residence on Cemetery Road.
- Police assisted the Clearfield Borough Fire Department with several reports about tree and wires down in the borough on Sunday evening.
- Police assisted an individual with unlocking their vehicle.
- Police received a report from a local business owner about an employee who was allegedly stealing from them. It remains under investigation at this time, police said.
