A search is underway for an air force plane that went missing in southern India on Friday morning, the nation’s military said.
The AN-32 took off from Chennai at 8:30 a.m. local time and was scheduled to land three hours later at Port Blair, in the Andaman and Nicobar Islands, said Cmdr. Anupam Banerjee, spokesman for the Indian Air Force.
Navy and coast guard crews are searching for the plane.
