Detour will be lifted
KYLERTOWN – The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) will re-open a bridge on Route 1011 (Rolling Stone Road) around 3 p.m. tomorrow, July 22. Once the bridge is open, PennDOT will lift the detour that’s been in place since July 7.
Crews have been working for a few weeks to replace the old bridge with a new box culvert over Browns Run in Kylertown. Almost 640 vehicles cross the structure each day.
Construction work will continue through the week of July 25, with flaggers in the roadway to alternate traffic as necessary.
Once the new box culvert is open, PennDOT will remove the detour that has been in place since July 7. The detour made use of Route 879 (Frenchville/Karthaus Highway), Route 1009 (Deer Creek Road), Route 2030 (Bigler Cutoff Road), and Route 53 (Allport/Kylertown Highway).
A crew from PennDOT Clearfield County Maintenance performed excavation and removal of the old bridge. Crews from Horizon Construction Group Inc. of Sandy Lake, Pa., took care of installing the new box culvert and new guide rail. They also performed paving. Value of the work is $311,214.00.
