CLEARFIELD – District Attorney William A. Shaw Jr. has announced Clearfield County’s Fugitive of the Week.
Shaw identified the fugitive as Candy Duprez, 37, of Wildwood Lane, Morrisdale. She is wanted for failure to appear at sentencing court, at which time a warrant was issued for her arrest.
On Oct. 8, 2015, Trooper Michael Moskel of the Pennsylvania State Police, Clearfield barracks, filed a criminal complaint in which Duprez was charged with simple assault, M2, and harassment, S.
According to the affidavit of probable cause, on May 17, 2015, state police received a report about an alleged assault that had recently occurred. Moskel then separately interviewed both the victim and Duprez.
Upon investigation it was determined that Duprez had struck the victim several times, state police said. Moskel observed injuries to the victim that were consistent with statements from both the victim ad Duprez.
In seven separate cases, Duprez is also charged with various counts of theft by deception, M2, and bad checks, S. Duprez recently failed to appear at sentencing court for all matters, and a warrant was issued for her arrest.
Duprez is described as a Caucasian female who stands 5 feet, 4 inches tall. She has brown hair and eyes.
