HOLLYWOOD – The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) is continuing work on a Route 255 bridge in Clearfield County, with a traffic pattern change set to begin next week.
The 12-foot bridge dates from 1930, spans Tyler Run in the village of Hollywood, and carries an average of almost 5,000 vehicles each day.
Replacing the bridge will remove it from Clearfield County’s structurally deficient list and provide area drivers with a new, modern structure.
Before 12 p.m. July 19, all traffic will be re-routed onto a single-lane temporary roadway at the construction site, controlled by temporary traffic signals. This temporary roadway will remain in place until the new bridge is completed.
The bridge contractor began work on July 11 to complete construction of the temporary roadway. LTT Trucking, LLC of North Bend, Pennsylvania is the contractor of this $750,000 project.
Overall work includes replacing the existing bridge with a new precast, concrete box culvert. The project also includes minor approach work, along with drainage and utility improvements. PennDOT expects the new bridge to be open to traffic by mid-October.
Drivers are reminded to move through work zones with caution, obey posted speed limits, and always buckle up.
