Dorothy A. Yurkovich, 87, of Osceola Mills and formerly of Madera, died Monday, July 11, 2016 at the Mount Nittany Medical Center in State College.
Born Jan. 4, 1929 in Belsena Mills, Pa., she was the daughter of the late Allen and Helen (Kowalcyk) Gulish.
She married John Andrew Yurkovich Jr. on Sept. 27, 1949 in Punxsutawney, and he preceded her in death on March 25, 1989.
Mrs. Yurkovich was a member of the Christ the King Catholic Church in Houtzdale.
She was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the Veterans of Foreign Wars in Osceola Mills and the Rosary Society.
She was retired from the Charles Navasky & Company of Philipsburg.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by an infant daughter, Bette and a brother, Richard Gulish.
She is survived by three daughters, Patricia A. Marold and her husband, Robert of Mendham, NJ and Carol A. Cowher and her husband, Paul and Catherine A. Smith and her husband, John, both of Osceola Mills and two sons, John J. Yurkovich and his wife, Gail of St. Augustine Fla., and Allen J. Yurkovich and his wife, Anne of Altoona.
She is survived by a sister Betty Lockett of Ashland, Ohio and one brother, Joseph Gulish of Altoona. She is also survived by 10 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Osceola Mills, with the Rev. Father Robert J. Horgas officiating. Burial will be at the Immaculate Conception Cemetery in Madera.
Friends will be received from 2 p.m. – 4 p.m. and from 6 p.m. – 8 p.m. Wednesday at the Heath Funeral Home & Cremation Services in Osceola Mills.
