David Ernest Howell, 57, of Falls Creek died Monday, July 4, 2016 at his residence after a lengthy illness.
Born Nov. 11, 1958 in Clearfield, he was the son of Edward R. and Germaine Lena (Dietrich) Howell.
Mr. Howell was retired from Verizon as a service technician.
In his younger years, he played guitar with various bands in the area. Most recently, he had worked for several bands in the area as a sound technician and was known as “Howie the sound man.”
He also was a member of the CWA Union Local No. 13000. He enjoyed backpacking, fly fishing, hiking and kayaking.
On April 9, 1999 in Luthersburg, he wed the former Maureen Kougher, who survives along with two daughters, Kari Ann Pollick and her husband, Erik and Kassi Jo Dixon and her husband, Brian, both of Clearfield, and two step-sons, Dustin Horchen and his wife, Michelle and Ryan Horchen and his wife, Wendy, both of DuBois.
Also surviving are four grandchildren, Kaleb Pollick, Olivia Dixon, Mariah Dixon and Maura Horchen; a sister, Claudia Henry and her husband, Robert of Harrisburg; a brother, Eddie Howell of Toccoa, Ga.; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Jacqueline Curry.
Funeral services for David Howell will be held at 5 p.m. Saturday at the Chester C. Chidboy Funeral Home Inc. of Curwensville with the Rev. David Neagle officiating. Burial will be in the Fruit Hill Cemetery, Ansonville.
Friends will be received from 2 p.m. – 5 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
