State police at Clearfield
- State police investigated an incident of DUI that occurred Sunday on Route 53/Coal Run in Decatur Township. Further, a Houtzdale man traveled through a DUI checkpoint and when stopped, he was allegedly determined to be under the influence of alcohol. He was charged with DUI and careless driving through the district court.
- State police conducted impaired driving enforcement Saturday and Sunday on roadways in Clearfield County with high incidences of DUI-related crashes. State police made four DUI arrests, two criminal arrests and 14 traffic arrests; troopers also issued 21 warnings for traffic offenses.
- State police received a report about an incident of criminal mischief Monday on Maple Street in Cooper Township. During the incident, someone who was operated an all-terrain vehicle struck the rear end of the victim’s 2012 Subaru Outlander while it was parked on the victim’s property. Damage is estimated at $600, and the investigation is continuing at this time, state police said.
State police at Philipsburg
- State police received a report about an incident of wiretapping that occurred May 9 on Loveville Road in Halfmoon Township. During the incident, a State College woman allegedly recorded a conversation with the victim without his knowledge.
- State police received a report about an incident of harassment that occurred July 1 on Miles Grove Road in Huston Township. During the incident, a Karthaus man allegedly contacted the victim several times in regards to his children.
Clearfield Borough
- Police assisted the Clearfield County Sheriff’s Department with serving warrants on a male who resides on Cemetery Road.
- Police received a complaint about a dog biting a male while he walked on Turnpike Avenue.
- Police received a report about a male who was allegedly harassing a female. He had been warned before about his actions and was cited for the offense, police said.
- Police received a report about a fight involving two males on South Fourth Street. Upon arrival to the scene, police found that the aggressor had also allegedly threatened to shoot a female. He was arrested and lodged in the Clearfield County Jail.
- Police responded to Lower Witmer Park for a juvenile male who was allegedly assaulted by two other juveniles.
- Over the holiday weekend, police made four DUI arrests.
- Police responded to the R.J. Corman railyard where individuals were reported to be trespassing. Upon arrival to the scene, police warned them for trespassing.
- Police located juveniles in Lower Witmer Park afterhours. Upon arrival police warned them and advised that the park closes at 9:30 p.m.
- Police responded to a minor motor vehicle accident on East Seventh and Daisy streets. There were no injuries reported as a result, and the driver was cited for failure to stop at a stop sign, police said.
- Police received a report about an individual who had pumped gas at Sheetz and then failed to pay for it.
- Police responded to an open door at a local business that was closed. After checking the business, police found everything to be OK.
- Police assisted Lawrence Township police with a possible fight involving a knife.
DuBois City
- Sometime overnight Friday, someone allegedly took items from an unlocked car, which was parked in the 100 block of East Scribner Avenue. Police are continuing their investigation at this time.
- On Friday police took a 20-year-old Penfield man into custody on outstanding warrants after receiving a tip that he was in the city park. He was transported to jail.
- During a traffic stop Saturday on Quarry Avenue, an officer allegedly found marijuana and paraphernalia. The passenger, a 31-year-old DuBois man, was taken into custody after it was found that he had a warrant issued by the Pennsylvania state parole, police said.
- On Sunday police stopped a Hyundai Santa Fe after he observed traffic violations. The operator, a 26-year-old DuBois man, was allegedly found to be under the influence of alcohol. He was taken into custody for DUI and transported to Penn Highlands DuBois for a blood draw. Charges are pending the toxicology reports, police said.
- On Sunday police received a report about a hit-and-run that occurred at the intersection of East Washington Avenue and South Highland Street. It occurred when a man who was riding a four-wheeler “popped a wheelie” and lost control as he fell off; as a result, his four-wheeler struck a parked vehicle. The man then left the scene without providing any information, and police are continuing their investigation at this time.
- On Sunday police stopped a 1984 Jeep for traffic violations. During the stop, the officer determined the operator, a 50-year-old DuBois man, was allegedly under the influence of alcohol. He was transported to Penn Highlands DuBois for a blood draw, which he refused. Charges will be filed against him, police said.
