Ritz Theater, downtown Clearfield

The theater’s lobby opens at 6:30 p.m. You can grab some popcorn, even if you cannot attend the movie showings. For movies and show times, please call 814-765-5835. Prices are $6 for adults and $4 for children (12 years and under) and senior citizens (60 years and older).
Super 322 Drive-In
July 1-3
The box office at the Super 322 Drive-In will open at 7 p.m. with the show beginning at 8 p.m. The box office accepts cash only. This week’s double feature will be Finding Dory, PG, and Captain America: Civil War, both PG-13.

Summer Event
Visit Clearfield County
A summer event will be held from 12 p.m. – 2 p.m. July 1 at the Visit Clearfield County Office at 208 Plaza Dr., Clearfield, beside Rural King. You can join the staff for trivia about Clearfield County, ear a bean bag throw and a chance to win prizes.
CCC Trail of History
2 p.m., Parker Dam, CCC Museum
Hike along the easy terrain of the CCC Trail and learn about a very transformative era of the park. Length will be about two miles of easy hiking.
Tools of the Early Woodsmen
6:30 p.m., Parker Dam, Campground
Be on the lookout for one of the park’s educators as they travel the campground with the tool wagon! The wagon will begin at the campground host site and continue around the outer loop of the campground. Bring your questions along as you check out a variety of lumbering era tools.
Corner Concert
Downtown Clearfield
Twin Reverb will perform at 7 p.m. July 1 at the Corner Concert in Shaw Park in downtown Clearfield.
Specializing in classic rock, Twin Reverb consists of Jarod Round, Clayton Condon and Dalton Condon. Community members are invited to bring a lawn chair and sing along to their favorite tunes.
Donations will also be collected for the Susquehanna River Arts Center.

Fourth of July Celebration
Treasure Lake, DuBois
On Saturday, July 2, there will be a Fourth of July Celebration at Treasure Lake, DuBois. There will be bike races, a boat parade, volleyball tournaments and much more all day long. Fireworks will go off at dusk. For a full schedule of events, please visit the Treasure Lake Facebook page.
Coalport Flea & Farmer’s Market
The Coalport Flea & Farmer’s Market will be held the first Saturday of each month through October. It will showcase vendors, crafters, gardeners, etc., and admission is free for the public. “Fireflies”
1 p.m., Elk visitor Center
This summertime fun flying insect has very sophisticated communication skills. Learn more about how this insect communicates, along with other interesting facts and adaptations.

Staff members will have educational props along the trails. Journey through our walking paths and interact with staff members to learn more about PA Elk and other wildlife!
Kayak Basics

There is a $3 fee for participants
Learn all the basics to get you started on the water. Getting in, getting out, and being safe are import; as is picking the right boat for you. A limited number of kayaks are available. Reserve a kayak by stopping in or contacting the Park Office 814-765-0630.
Happy Birthday Sand Cake

Help us create the best sand birthday cake to celebrate Parker Dam State Park’s and DCNR’s birthdays. All ages needed to create our masterpiece! Bring shovels, buckets, and other sand tools, if you have them.

Ralph W. Abele’s philosophy helped protect and conserve the Commonwealth’s waterways and aquatic life. As longest serving Executive Director of the Fish and Boat Commission, Abele is credited with Modernizing the Fish and Boat Code. Join us as we learn about this early conservation visionary.
Kid’s Bike Parade and Movie
Curwensville Lake
A kid’s bike parade and movie will be held from 6 p.m. – 10 p.m. Saturday, July 2 at Curwensville Lake. An award will be given for the kid with the best decorated bike; the theme is red, white and blue. After the bike parade, there will be a movie on the lake; you can bring a beach blanket and snacks.
Music by “Root 2 Fifth”
Laurel Mountain Vineyard
You can enjoy sights and sounds of summer at the winery in the picnic pavilion from 7 p.m. – 9 p.m. Saturday, July 2. Entertainment will be provided by “Root 2 Fifth” for an entrance fee of $5. Catered food is available for additional cost. For more information, visit the winery’s Web site.

Black bears are remarkable creatures roaming Penn’s Woods. Their adaptations and survival behavior are incredibly interesting. Come learn more about these creatures and understand just what makes them so unique.
Tea and Talk

Bring your own cup to sample some sweet fern/mountain mint tea grown right here in the park. Talk subjects are always open for discussion ~ come with some idea of what you want to know, learn, or share. The Sunday evening tea and talk has been going on for many years – come and be a part of the tradition.
Sparkly Eyes and Fireflies
9 p.m., Parker Dam, Pavilion 4
Prepare to be dazzled as we take a stroll through the picnic area in search of creatures of the night. We’ll search for frogs, spiders, fireflies, and whatever else we may come across. So put aside any fears of the dark you may have and come along. Please, no flashlights during the program so that participants can use their night vision.

Bring your sand castle building tools and join us for a “wildlife” sand castle contest! Participants will create a sand sculpture of an organism that could be found in Parker Lake. Once finished we will discuss the natural history of each creation.

Aug. 11 and Aug. 25 are to be announced. Please bring your own chair and some bleacher seating is available for approximately 100 people. In case of inclement weather, concerts will try to be rescheduled.
