Catherine “Kitty” Egan, 86, of DuBois died Wednesday, June 29, 2016 at Penn Highlands DuBois.
Born Dec. 16, 1929, she was the daughter of the late Daniel P. and Margaret (Caulfield) Egan.
She retired as the office manager of the St. Mary’s office of the Metropolitan Life Insurance Company. She worked for Met Life for 38 years.
She was a member of St. Catherine of Siena Roman Catholic Church, where she currently served as the president of the Altar Rosary Society.
She volunteered weekly in the office at St. Catherine’s. She also volunteered at the St. Joseph Outreach Program and worked the election polls in the City of DuBois’ Fifth Ward for many years.
She enjoyed reading and going for walks. She was always actively involved in all of her family’s activities and events.
She is survived by a sister, Mary Delaney of Reynoldsville and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by four brothers and seven sisters.
Friends will be received from 6 p.m. – 8 p.m. Tuesday at the Goble-Baronick Funeral Home Inc.
For those who wish to attend, a scriptural wake service will be prayed at 5:15 p.m. Tuesday to be followed immediately by the praying of the rosary.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Wednesday at St. Catherine of Siena Roman Catholic Church with Msgr. Richard Siefer as celebrant.
Burial will follow in St. Catherine Cemetery.
