Marlies Ann Deakin, 83, of RD West Decatur, died Monday, June 20, 2016 at Mount Nittany Medical Center in State College.
Born Dec. 10, 1932 in Stettin-Politz, Germany, she was the daughter of Herman and Anni (Witte) Petry.
Mrs. Deakin had worked as a clerk in the deli and bakery of the former Super-Duper Food Market, the former BiLo Food Market and retired from the Weiss Markets after 30 years of service.
She attended the Clearfield First Baptist Church.
In October of 1954 in Darnstadt, Germany, she wed William H. Deakin, who survives, along with five daughters and a son, Diane Deakin, Veronica Anderson, Linda Deakin, Rhonda Deakin and William Deakin, all of Pittsburgh and Carol Helsel of Parks, Colo. Also surviving are four grandsons and a granddaughter.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
At the request of Mrs. Deakin, there will be no public visitation.
Funeral services for Mrs. Deakin will be held at the convenience of the family at the Chester C. Chidboy Funeral Home Inc. of Clearfield with the Rev. Stephen Shields officiating. Burial will be in the Bradford Cemetery, Woodland.
