Presumptive Democratic presidential nominee Hillary Clinton will meet Wednesday with House Democrats, according to a Democratic aide.
Clinton will visit Capitol Hill at the invitation of House Democratic Leader Nancy Pelosi and Rep. Xavier Becerra, the aide said. The former Secretary of State is expected to arrive on Capitol Hill around 10 a.m. ET.
Clinton’s meeting with House Democrats comes amid the party’s transition to the general election campaign, and continues Clinton’s effort to unite the party and mollify Sanders supporters after the fractious primary campaign.
While Sanders has not formally conceded the race, Clinton has received the full-throated backing of Democratic elected officials, and Sanders-backing holdouts such as Rep. Tulsi Gabbard and Rep. Raul Grijalva have both acknowledged Clinton’s primary victory.
