Marilyn L. Camise, 89, formerly of Falls Creek, died Tuesday, June 14, 2016 at Christ the King Manor.
Born April 28, 1927 in DuBois, she was the daughter of the late Jess and Eva (Cobb) Miller.
She attended school in Falls Creek and graduated in 1945 as salutatorian.
On July 30, 1949, she married John P. Camise. He preceded her in death in 2002.
She was a member of St. Bernard Roman Catholic Church and the Rosary Altar Society. She also served as lector there.
She was a member of the Christ the King Auxiliary, the National Multiple Sclerosis Society, and she served on the board of St. Michael’s Terrace Council of Human Dignity.
She volunteered at DuBois Central Catholic and the former DuBois Regional Medical Center.
She is survived by a son, John P. Camise Jr. and his wife, Sharon of DuBois; three daughters, Linda L. Prutzman and her husband, Pete of Arkadelphia, Ark., Nancy M. Schaffer and her husband, Andy of DuBois and Donna M. Harpool of Falls Creek; seven grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
She is also survived by her twin sister, Martha L. Hallstrom and her husband, A.B. of DuBois and her brother, John H. Miller and his wife, Carol of Luthersburg.
She was preceded in death by two brothers, Merle and Ross Miller and two sisters, Jean Eckstein and Donna Weant.
Friends will be received from 2 p.m. – 4 p.m. and from 6 p.m. – 8 p.m. Thursday at the Goble-Baronick Funeral Home.
A Scriptural Wake Service will be held at 1:30 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Friday at the St. Bernard Roman Catholic Church in Falls Creek with Msgr. Richard Siefer as celebrant.
Burial will be in Beechwoods Cemetery.
